About UKProRata
UKProRata is an independent UK-focused calculator website built to make everyday pay and working-pattern calculations easier to understand. Our main tool helps people estimate a pro rata salary when they work fewer hours, fewer days, or a reduced full-time equivalent (FTE) compared with a standard full-time role.
We designed the site for employees, job seekers, managers, small businesses and anyone who wants a quick, transparent answer without working through formulas by hand.
How our calculators work
Our calculators use straightforward mathematical formulas and show the working wherever practical. For the main pro rata salary calculator, the core calculation is based on the proportion of the full-time working pattern that you work:
Pro rata salary = full-time salary × (your working time ÷ full-time working time).
Where a calculator includes optional weeks worked, days, or FTE inputs, those values are applied explicitly so you can see how the result was produced.
